Two Tier Wedding Cake Pink Flowers

This was the very first wedding cake I had ever done; at this point I had never made a cake this big or one that involved stacking. The people on the top of the cake are made of plastic I will admit that at this point I did not feel confident enough to be able to make people.

Both tiers are vanilla, dusted with mother of pearl lustre to give it a glitter. The flowers are made of three or four different colours in different shapes and sizes. It was scary but very satisfying when I finished it. The cake was also very well received by the bride and groom according to the lady who ordered it, It was surprise for them as they did not know exactly what they were getting :)

Pirate and Princess Cake

So, please forgive the delay in posting again, I have a good reason this time, I got married! I will post the wedding cake when we have the party so people can see.

So in light of this recent event, this month’s theme will be tiered cakes!

This is a little girls birthday cake for a themed party around Pirates and Princesses. It’s a 3 tier, two vanilla and the middle one chocolate although you could do any flavour. Each cake is on its own board and to do a tiered cake you need to have plastic supports in the cake below. Please see below diagram :)

This way you are not just adding cake onto cake, you are giving it a structure so its less likely to fall in on its self like a black hole!

The little Princesses and Pirates are all edible and the water at the bottom is just royal icing with blue food colouring mixed in.

The little flowers and pirate flags where just to add little touches.

Castle Cake

I tend to give any cake ago, if you have an idea and you want me to try it then I will see if there is a logical way of doing it. This cake is a Castle cake, done originally for a little girls first birthday, it was all vanilla cake with vanilla butter icing and jam.

The base is a 9 inch cake, there are straws in the towers to hold them in place all the way through to the base. I was please with the way this one turned out, the tops are just pink paper made into cone but there to hide the secret sweeties underneath :)

 Ohhh the sweeties!
Ahhh the pink of it all.
