Angry Birds Cake

I enjoyed this cake, mainly because of the time I had free to do the details on the figures and the fact that there are so many of them.

I always try to get things as close as I can to how they should really be and in this case I was very pleased with the results!

Super Hero Cupcakes for a Charity Day!

Where I work have Charity Events every now and then, you know, to do there bit and show that they are willing to help the world! This event was done with a Super Hero Theme!!! So I decided to pitch my colleagues in a battle of wits to see who knew what Super Hero's I had chosen to decorate the cupcakes in. Needless to say they got the obvious ones but you would be surprised by which one stumped them...

Of all these Hero's, it was Wonder Woman that confused most, you must take into consideration that this was about 4 years ago so a lot of the major movies they now know where not out then...

The cakes are basically vanilla cupcakes with a swirls of butter icing, and a circle of fondant icing put on top, then the Hero logos are pipped royal icing left to dry and put on top, was hard and time consuming but from what I understand these cakes where gone within the hour so it was totally worth it!

Alice in Wonderland Cake, 18th Birthday

This was a cake that was made for my cousins 18th Birthday. It is a two tier cake, the bottom is vanilla and the top is a chocolate cake custom carved into the shape of the Mad Hatters Hat.

The cake has an Alice, The Cheshire Cat, Tweedledum and Tweedledee, Flowers from the Garden, Teacups and Pots etc. Playing Cards and the White Rabbits Watch. All made from fondant icing with the hardening agent, all made over the space of about a week. The cake it’s self about an evening to put together, but the little decorations took the longest.

There was so much I could have picked to go in this cake, but I had to draw a line somewhere.

Jag E Type Cake

This cake is made in the same was as the other car cakes, this one was one of the first I had ever done that needed to try and look realistic. The silver trim is an edible paint you can get from cake decorating shops but is a nightmare to put on as it gunks up really quickly.

Again sprayed in mother of pearl, and to give you an idea of the final size that is a 30cm ruler just in front of the car, so its a reasonable size.
